This is a battery latch for the AT-D878UV and AT-D868UV DMR and analog radios. This is a weak point in the radio's design and often breaks when you drop the radio. Replacing the latch is easily although it does require you to partially disasemble the radio.
The picture shown is the same battery latch show both normally and reversed.
